You cited some great examples here - Metroid Prime, Destiny, Dead Space and Prey are some that I find myself referencing time and time again.

Destiny was a particularly notable game changer in the industry, I think. Not only with the amount of games that began to adopt it's free cursor but also designers realising that game UI can take notes from classic graphic design while still being strongy thematic. It's influence also reminds me of Apex Legends and the 'Ping' mechanic.
